Alister is a Director of LDA Design and a Fellow of the Landscape Institute and with extensive NSIP project experience, he led the UK’s first NSIP and is a recognised expert on DCOs having advised on over NSPIS. His expertise  extends to include integrated EIA process, environmental strategy, masterplanning, design leadership and process and the integration of landscape and visual assessment. He is an advisor NISTA on design matters and was a contributing author for the National Infrastructure Assessment 2 on Transformational Design and ‘Place Plans’ which elevated the need to focus on spatial planning and beneficial outcomes for communities. He was lead author of the NIC’s Project Specific Design Principles, best practice guidance on integrated EIA processes published by ISEP, is a recognised expert witness and was a TEDx speaker at the Royal Society Whitehall series, on infrastructure legacy.
